Fillies and gentlecolts, here we have what, I guess, you could call a "spooky" deviation for the month of October - "Castlemane-ia: Sombra's Curse"! This started off as the next entry in my "Gaming What-Ifs" series, but seeing as how I already had a Castlevania-referenced piece in there, I decided to make this one a standalone. After playing the Castlevania series for a while, I noticed that Dracula was never truly "defeated" (off-screen defeat preceding Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow notwithstanding), but rather "put back to sleep" by a Belmont until fate decided it was time for him to rise once again and continue the dark cycle. The idea of Sombra's defeat being in a similar vein to the aforementioned struck me, and thus, I started work on this piece.
The front of the "box art" is based off the Japanese cover of Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse, while the "back" is based on the English version of the same game. What do y'all think? Can you picture Applejack, Twilight, Rainbow Dash, and Chrysalis teaming up to take down the vengeful spirit of King Sombra?
Took about 6 hours of work, and I really like how it turned out. HUGE thanks to
for his amazing vectors of Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Twilight Sparkle, and Queen Chrysalis. HUGE thanks also to
for posting the sprites for AJ, Twi, Chrysalis, and Dash from his "Mega Pony" fan game! (Go check it out; that thing is amazing.)
As always, comments are welcome and appreciated.
